We think it’s important to make our events accessible to anyone who wants to come. By providing scholarship places for our conference, we hope to include people who can bring unique perspectives to SCANZ as well as benefit from being part of a friendly network of communicators. We are committed to supporting members of communities who are underserved/underrepresented in science communication. You do not need to be a SCANZ member to apply for a scholarship.

The awardees will receive complimentary rēhitatanga registration for the entire SCANZ conference (including hākari dinner on Rāpare Thurs 21st), plus up to $600 towards hāereere travel and wāhi noho accommodation.

We will also partner awardees with a SCANZ member as a ‘connector’ - to help facilitate whakawhanaungatanga networking. We recognise that not everyone are extroverts!

We can cater for a broad range of accessibility and dietary needs - just let us know. Successful applicants will receive a complimentary registration to the conference plus up to $600 towards hāereere travel and wāhi noho accommodation.

If you are an individual or business who would like to sponsor a scholarship, please email us.

Applications have now closed, and recipients will be notified by Monday 21 October.
